Thanks Priscilla - I need to remember to do that for everyone's image before commenting. |

Another thought - on my monitor, the stars are much more prominent if I click on the image. Are others doing that? |

Glenn, A couple of people have mentioned cropping from the top - but for me the subject wasn't the windmill but the vast star filled sky, with the windmill almost serving as an antenna communicating with them. Clearly that didn't come across to others. I wonder how I could have made that more clear. |

I like the way the leaves frame the statue's face. The monochrome works well. You might consider toning down the leaves that are "hot" to help keep attention on the statue - but that's a small thing.

Very pretty scene. The green and yellow colors work well together. The sky is bland, and I don't think its helping the picture. Perhaps crop it out entirely just below the tree line. |

I love the colors and the perspective. Good work capturing a wide brightness range without blowing out the highlights. |

Wow - I love all the starts and the gradation in sky brightness from left to right. Is the large bright disk just above the horizon the moon? (if not, what is it?). Is that what is illuminating the foreground? The large aperture you needed to capture the sky resulted in the foreground focus being soft. If the brightness of the ground, especially across the bottom of the photo was decreased, the soft focus wouldn't be as noticeable, and it would help drive attention to the sky. |

I love the colors and the patterns in the orchid. My eye keeps looking for the stem - or some other means of support for the flower but perhaps that can't be included because of the distracting background. I'd like to see what an even tighter crop on the flowers would look like - to the point where almost all (or all) of the black was eliminated, perhaps resulting in an almost abstract image of color and pattern. |

Nice job bringing out detail in the cliffs on the left of the frame. My eye keeps being drawn to the brightest/highest contrast part of the picture - the wake and outboard motor. My guess is that wasn't your intended focal point. I'd suggest cropping out the bottom third of the frame, to eliminate the motor and almost all the wake, and make the rest of the landscape more prominent. |
