Nothing to add to previous comments - if cropping is tight, I think its only on the right side - a looser crop would give the train someplace to go. In a perfect world, we'd be able to see just a hint of the locomotive cab through the steam, but the photo spirits didn't give you that option. |

Very nice - I like that you kept some detail in the sky, and the almost monochromatic blue theme. |

Great composition and toning. I like the "layers" of birds and beach in the foreground, water in the middle, and sunset in the background. I can't think of any improvements. Good use of software to make this image work. |

I'm a fan of "street photography", and I think your picture is a good example. I wonder if stepping a foot or two left or right would have let you see his face without it being blocked by the microphone. |

Great composition, sharpness and colors. I would consider leaving out the leaves that aren't in the bowl - for me they are a distraction. I'm also curious about how you edited the image - the transition between the fruit and bowl and the black background is so abrupt that it doesn't look realistic. Perhaps feathering the edge would help, or including some of the tabletop. |

Laura Lee, I go back and forth on the hole - its an interesting feature of the arch, and I originally included it in the image without the "spirit" for accuracy's sake - but it may not work in the composite image. I plan to go back and re-do the composite using one of my own photos from a Blackfoot Indian Pow Wow - I'll re-evaluate including the hole then. |

Thanks Suzanne,
I didn't use a tripod. I used Lightroom to stitch the images. I just tell it to autoalign. Photoshop also works well - it has successfully handled panoramas for me that Lightroom "choked" on, but the processing time is significantly longer. |
