Great image, and great beard. Only thing I would consider is decreasing the brightness of the barn boards to help the cowboy stand out. |

Peter - have you looked at Arizona Highways Photoscapes. They do workshops throughout the Southwest and elsewhere, and prices tend to be more reasonable than other options I've seen. |

I like the subject and how you captured the sparks. I think the green in the background - under the hammer handle - takes away from the sparks. I wonder how it would look with green selectively desaturated and brightness reduced. It might bring more attention to the sparks and Piran's face. There are two items on the right edge of the image that almost look like wadded up pieces of paper - that for me are a little distracting. I wonder if those could be cloned out and if that would help emphasize the sparks. |

I like how the sky and tree on the right edge frame the center and provide a sense of depth. I wonder how it would look with the brightness of snow in the lower left corner decreased, and the center brightened to emphasize center of interest. |

I agree with monochrome and rotation. Perhaps also increase go for a "steampunk" look - increase contrast/texture. |
