17 Jul 20 Reply Many cactus are pollinated by moths and bats. Some agave (Webers for example) only bloom once in their lifetime. They put up a 10-20 foot stalk with flowers at the top, and then they die. Jul 13th
17 Jul 20 Comment Beautiful. Excellent job capturing the sun without blowing it out so that there is still a touch of color in it. The only thing I have to add is to perhaps second Joe's comment about opening up the shadows on the left just a hair.

I was a bit confused by your comment that this picture was taken at sunset on the Atlantic Coast. I googled Playa Dominicalito and Google Maps shows it on the Pacific side. It also told me the driving time from Phoenix was 65 hours.		 Jul 12th
17 Jul 20 Comment Very nice. I like the composition, colors, and isolation against the black with just enough of the background showing to give it context.

Out compass barrel cactus just popped out a bloom, I was going to go out and take a picture, but the temperature today is 115! We were supposed to be up at Glacier this week, but the trip was cancelled. Only one entrance to the park is open because the Blackfeet Indians have shut their reservation down. They are at high risk for Coronavirus because so many of their homes are multigenerational, and they have limited access to medical care. Smarter than the State Governor.		 Jul 12th
17 Jul 20 Comment Really cool. The swirls in the cloud draw you in to the airplane. Good toning, sharpness, saturation, etc. A "creative" category composition winner. Jul 12th
17 Jul 20 Comment I like the modern building, and the comparison with the old. And how the slanted line in the roof shadow draws you into the image. For me, the comparison is strongest between the old chimneys and the modern. I think that would be enhanced by cropping out the plain bricks on the left, to just before the window. I think that the textures in the roof, bricks and windows could be stronger, perhaps by adjusting contrast, sharpening, and "texture" if using lightroom. Jul 12th

17 Jul 20 Comment I never thought of viewing this as stalking, and I don't think it was. I included it in our pictures from France to show French "style" and included more of the street to give it a sense of place. That said, cropping it to emphasize the "follower" gives it a totally different feeling. Here it is. Jul 12th
