Great detail in feathers without being oversharpened. Beautiful colors. Perhaps tone down bright spots in the background to help keep focus on the bird. Is there more bird in the capture? If the "entire bird" is available, what does a loser crop look like, maybe even a vertical? |

Colors, composition, subject all work very well. I love it.
I second the suggestion that image be cropped from the right to increase focus on the rooster and Sadhu |

What was the military event? I know you said he wasn't interested in precision, but I can't help but note that the flag isn't WWII era, if that's the intent. I'm fascinated by the uniform. What do the laces around the thighs do?
Its a great photo because its interesting.

I like the composition and red/blue contrast (rock formation on the right helps "frame" the image). Great sense of depth with foreground, midground, background elements. I've been to Valley of Fire and I know the rock is quite red, but between the saturation from the polarizer and the late afternoon lighting, it looks unreal - at least on my screen. I wonder if backing off the saturation a bit might work. |

I like the composition, and that the HDR conversion isn't "cartoonish". I wonder how it would look if the barge brightness and contrast was selectively increased. |

Great job stopping action, and having sufficient depth of field to have all of the birds in focus. I wonder if there is any way to bring out more detail or texture in the sky. Perhaps a selective clarity or dehaze adjustment. If not, I'd suggest cropping from the top and bottom so more of the image is taken up by the birds.
