Thanks for the greetings everyone. I look forward to participating with the group. I agree that there would be some benefit cropping at the bottom, but I think I would leave the guide's hand and arm in. I think the diagonal line helps lead your eye up to his face. As a side note, I managed to get a sharp image at 1/8 second handheld by taking many and throwing out all the fuzzy ones. |

What a beautiful bird! Great composition. I like the moss on the branch - it adds context and reality to the image. Even though much of the bird is black, you've managed to keep it from disappearing into the dark background. I didn't even notice the soft focus on the bird's tail until I read the other comments. |

Beautiful shot - only thing I would ask for is a little headroom showing more of the formations at the top of the picture. As a side note, we recently moved full time from Chicago to the Phoenix area - Horseshoe Bend is a 4 hour drive from home. Definitely one of the many spots we will have to get to soon. |

The boy's posture and the crashing wave says it all. I agree with the comments on crop - also think the brightness and contrast could be increased. There is a horizontal line of some sort top left about 1/5 of the way down, not sure what it comes from. A tighter crop eliminates it. |

I had no idea such plants existed. I love the rainbow of colors. My first reaction was that it needed cropping from the top, but I wonder if there isn't another way to go - cropping from the bottom. The colors in the bark are the real interest for me. The twig may even help in this version by leading your eye up to the bark. |

High impact photo. Both the sky and the tufas are very dramatic. Are there two different possible interpretations here? One with the emphasis on the sky, which I think you have done, and another with emphasis on the tufas, by darkening the sky and brigtening the foreground. |

I like it - it tells a story. Only thing I would add to previous comments is that I find the bright area (is it sky?) on the back of the fellow on the left is distracting. Could it be toned down or cloned to black? |
