11 Dec 19 Reply Thanks Jim. You will be able to photograph your own Kookaburra when you arrive in Australia soon. :) Dec 30th
11 Dec 19 Reply Welcome to our group Victor. Yes, it is an intent gaze isn't it? I suspect he is always on the look out for prey. With our ongoing dreadful drought, food is in short supply. So to be on constant lookout is a must.
I look forward to seeing your submissions in 2020.
Cheers

11 Dec 19 Reply It still took me some time to find the Heron after you said were he was. Stunning bird, so so serious in his pose. Good luck with the club comp. No doubt that this image will promote healthy discussion! Dec 18th
11 Dec 19 Reply I noted your edit path and will indeed use this myself. Such a transformation in the details! Thanks for showing us. Dec 18th
11 Dec 19 Reply Always has to be one in every group :) hahaha Dec 17th
11 Dec 19 Comment For my next creation I cropped and flipped the bottom of the image. I think it that it looks like a mountain. In retrospect I think that I should have cropped out the log at the bottom. I was thinking lava flows but I probably went to far with that thought process. haha .On my edits I used your 2nd edit as I too liked the lighter background. Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Comment Well, I sat and looked this for a while feeling a bit confused. It was busy and without meaning to me. Then, I decided that I was confused as I could see two images rather than one. This is my first crop and I like to think that I can see a rearing horse albeit missing its head. But, you might get my drift. :) Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Comment So much action caught in one frame! I think that you completed a lovely edit and I have nothing to add. Well done! Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Comment I was very drawn to this image Tom. I really liked it. Then, I saw Henry's edit and then I loved it! The tonal ranges and shapes make very compelling viewing. I would really like to see more of these images :) Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Comment So much detail and so many lines! This yellow colour certainly lends itself to your mono conversion. I particularly like the absence of reflections and shadows. There are patches of light exactly where they need to be. Well done :) Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Comment I agree with Henry on the little bit sticking out of the branch on the far right. But boy, that is just being super picky. Tom enhanced the lizard just little more to give it a bit more punch. Very lovely portrayal of a lizard Jim. :) Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Comment Welcome Henry! Such a lovely shot with all points of interest sharp and as Tom noted, the tonal range is lovely. Well done with your handheld skills! My only suggestion is a tiny crop left and bottom to lose the bush that just takes my eye away from wrecked boat. Its an image that if it was a large print in a waiting room I would happily spend my time taking in all of the elements that you captured. Nice work :) Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Reply Thanks Tom! I see no one is worried about the missing part of his body. I also like your darker background as he tends to seperate more from it than my lighter background. Cheers :) Dec 14th
11 Dec 19 Reply I thank you so very much for taking the time to re edit my image. Yes, you are spot on with your critic. He certainly did need the space to look into too. Also leaving the background in also gives the thought that he was in fact in the wild and not in an artificial situation and just the right amount of colour contrast. This is something that I was toying with and ultimately made the wrong decision. Again, thank you Henry :) Dec 11th
