Thanks Lisa :) This is the only image of the series that I took that I considered for mono. The others are very colourful and have the "feels" with the horses, mist and water. I am with you, the brightness of the water conveys action and separation and overall I am happy with it. :) |

Thanks Tom! I like your edit. I feel a bit of a Goldilocks light theme happening. Too bright, too dark, ahh just right :) In my mind you have the perfect balance. Thank you for taking the time to edit my image. My judgement would be clouded because I was there. This is what we tend to do. We, and by that I mean I, romanticize about what we saw at the time. The sun was coming up to create the light effects. I was super happy with the image but I can now see that the lightness of the girls faces is way too bright. Thanks again. |

I just had to google calyx :) Sure is a nice name, much nicer than that 'hairy part'. I shall continue my botany studies via your postings Tom ;) |

Well done on the tonality of this image Jim! I photographed seals on Seal Island off Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia.( Google it - it is an amazing place. David Attenborough just loves it!) Due to many factors I didn't get one shot that I liked and not one without dreadful highlights on their shiny coats. So my hat is off to you Sir! |

Thanks Jim. Both of our daughters are equestrians so I have a little bit of know how when it comes to photographing horses. :) These girls could have been showing off for me as I did ask them for permission to photograph them when they set off to gather the mob of horses ;) |

I am with Jim. I think you could really push this image further and give it more texture. There actually looks like there is an armed person in the doorway at the far end of the veranda. Maybe this an avenue to explore? :) Your image looks very wild west to me and I like that look :) |

Wowsers Tom! You certainly are a clever photographer and editor!! I read the comments above and whilst I considered the suggestions of burning the lighter petals, I personally would only explore the action with trepidation. I personally like the introduction of the lighter shading. The lighter petals give the image balance to my eye. Instead of seeing the many shades of grey it introduces a different hue and another point of interest - of which there are many. My only edit would be to remove the hairy part of the flower on the bottom right.
A truly outstanding image Tom! |

Such a lovely tranquil and serene landscape Lisa! I do prefer the wider crop in your original. I love the inclusion of the caravan as it gives me the thought of people enjoying camping here and I wish that I was one of them :) The taller pine on the far right gives me a place to rest with my eye before I travel back across the shoreline. I do like Jims edit and I would like to see it applied to your original. The detail in the rugged mountains is fabulous! Well done :) |

Super pleasing image Allen! Whilst your composition is great I do agree with Jims edit. I would go a teeny bit further and either clone out or burn the masts on the sail boat. It is a really nice study of the heron and you captured it well. |
