Hi Tom :) I also consider myself very very lucky to have spent time amongst the Baobabs and the locals. Trip of a lifetime thats for sure. I have so many stories to tell about my time in Madagascar. Amazing and yet very confronting at the same time. Thanks so much for your enthusiastic response. I wish you were all part of the panel when I throw a few in for judging :) |

Love this! So much drama and movement. I prefer your cropped image as it lets the clouds do the talking. This would have been incredible to see in person! |

This is such a great image! So crisp and I love the way the light seems to glow out of the centre of the flower. |

Thanks so much Allen! I understand what you are saying about the contrast with the sky and the branches now. I must stop obsessing :) |

Hi Stephen!
You are not a minority, there are a few of us just like you :) On this day I lined myself up to capture as many of the locals as I could traversing the Avenue.
I have set this image and others from this location as Travel PTD images and as you are aware that the image has to stay" as is". I would love to clone out the boxes but unfortunately i can't.
What I have done is searched high an low to find an image sans people and ultimately found one just for you :) This image in colour is a delight to the senses! The Baobab trunks glow orange/pink when the light hits them. They truly are wondrous. |

Hello Oliver! So nice of you to drop by :)
Thank you for your kind words. Yes Madagascar is an incredible country. I was very lucky to travel around it for 3 weeks interacting with the locals.
I was looking more to tone down the highlights rather than add to them. I realise now that I should have used a Polariser and I think that would have solved my problems in camera. Thank you again for your kind words and your help :) |
