Thanks Jim. I just wish that Group 11 were my Camera Club Judges as you all are so much more complementary :).

Thanks Tom. I really like your crop. A lot actually. I admit that I had never thought of cropping this image. Your version certainly gives this lady more punch. I often get sad looking at this image as when a woman has facial hair it is because of underlying medical issues. Such a hard life these people live. Thanks for your input Tom :) |

The 101 of Camera Club composition. I have been told that this image shows "promise", so I thought I would put it up for discussion in this group. I was happy with it and didn't know what else I could do to take it up a notch to drag it out of the promising region. But, I do like Tom's crop a lot. |

The softer effects on young Beckett are great. Such an interesting image. Such a labour of love for you and I look forward to seeing this little chap grow up.

Hi Jim,
Firstly I would like to say that I wish I was where you took this image right now. In my part Australia today it is 104 Degrees. We are in a record drought and breathing in the cool air where you took this image would suit me right now :)
I am unfamiliar with this style of photography so I will not comment on the technicality of it but will continue to look at it and wish I was there. |

Hi Tom,
Congratulations on the birth of your very cute grandson. I like the effects that you have used. In my mind young Beckett looks a little startled, maybe the whites of his eyes are a little bright. I really like the soft treatment of his face and chest? Could you soften the defined scratching around his armpit area. Made me instantly think of armpit hair :) Has the cutest fingers on his left hand! |

Hi Jim,
Both images have their own appeal. The crop for its uniformity and the Original 2 for showing how tall the trees are. Pity that there were some bent/curving trees on the right of this image otherwise I would have been my choice. The aspen bark invites me to want to touch it. |

I just love your comment on the migrating cranes reference! I did a quick edit to darken the foreground and foliage in order to seperate the blooms from being grounded as per your cranes in flight reference. Its a very nice image and cyclamens are such pretty flowers. |
