Hi Patrick. I have the same impression as Jan mentioned. My first impression was it is part of anatomical. Roy Killen my PSA mentor wrote an interesting article about "Why convert images to monochrome?".

Agree. Monochrome sometimes works better than color. Especial when color distract the beauty of our texture. I learned it from Roy Killen. Australian photographer my Senior Mentor in PSA. https://belmont16s.myphotoclub.com.au/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/05/Basic-monochrome-2016.compressed.pdf |

Hi Kirk. It took me a while to consider what is your subject here. I agree with you this mountain with sandia color is really beautiful. If this would be the subject. The tree on the right is a bit too big and I would remove the trees of the left. I might want to de-saturate the sky a bit to make the mountain more outstanding. |

Hi Kathryn. It's hard to believe you shot using cellphone. The fine detail of the protruding bush with sunset sky on the right is just excellent to me. You guide our eyes from right to left with gradual lighting. It is indeed remarkable. You purposely include part of pine tree on the left make a complete story to the whole scene. It makes me say. Wow. It's a perfect mood and tonality. |

Hi Scott. Welcome to the club. What a wonderful premier. I love to see sharp edges of the trees and sky. The composition is well balance to me. My only suggestion would be to lightened the left foreground and create a bit of partial light like the one on the right foreground. |

Hi Geoff. It's a wonderful and rare scenery. I wonder you capture using drone or you fly? Is it SOOC (straight out of camera)? You could always de-haze it and increase the clarity and texture to make it more dramatic. |

Hi Pierre. I always like night cityscape with light reflection. The dark side on the bottom left keep pulling my eyes away from the beautiful reflection. I hope you don't mind my crop as follow. |

My camera setting was 1/2500 sec at f/6.3, ISO 1250. I used Topaz AI for noise reduction and sharpening. Mild sharpening is applied partially only to certain area. Texture and Clarity was set to almost zero to smooth out the background. |

Hi Janet. What an awesome shot. I really appreciate your idea to have your daughter holding her black tee-shirt as a background. It works real well to me. It make the whole seen pop and enjoyable. Additional flare makes it more dimensional. Good job Janet. |

Hi Howard. I like his expression. I know you must have been waiting for a while to get him (or her?) in this kind of position. I like your choice of f8 and the background log look soft and blurry. I love soft fur. It's more of a personal preference. I wonder if you can see the difference my editing. I have made a mild for softening using luminosity mask. |
