I just want to add a comment from Barbara Eddy this month. My friend from DDG 90. She said: When I look at other people's images, I always wonder what I would do if I were the one taking it. The spirit is to help other to grow so we would also grow. She is a a nature and travel coach to many photographers. |

Hi Mike. I agree with Jan. I love to learn how you create Original 1 to Original 2. To me. This is already an excellent creation. Adding a flying Egret make us viewers think. The bird was flying among unique vegetations. My particular concerns in creating this kind of composite is always smooth and seamless transition among element's edges. I normally choose my cut out: Radius 5 px, Smooth 100%, Feather 2.5 and contrast 100%. Many times. I still have to apply luminosity mask to ensure smooth and seamless transitions between elements. I agree with Gunter's modification to blur out the background a bit. But not too much! |

Hi Jan. I agree with Mike comments. I love to see you try something different. It's not your default. To me. It is perfectly done. I do not mind Gunter curve adjustment to make it more pop. The whole arrangement is just a perfect prove. An excellent combination between art and photo editing skills. Good Job Jan. I love it! |

Hi Gunter. This a truly superb creation. I love the harmony you created between the top and the bottom. You make it too perfect until I could spot a tiny imperfection at the 6 o'clock position. It's an excellent work ! |

Hi Candy. I like your concept and ideas. Composite wise, it was all nicely done. I asked myself how can I can help you improve the overall results. The dog and the cat image quality is much better than the stone panels. It makes them obvious they were pasted there. This a good example when we need to add noise, grains and a bit of 'imperfections' to good quality elements. To make them if they were really there when you shot the stone panel. |

Hi Peter. I am glad to hear what you imagine. To me. It's a fun brain teaser. An interesting exercise of your PS skills. I agree with Jan Handyman's comments. I just could not make such elaborate words like her. The challenge here is how to make the crystal birds as realistic as it could be. It's not a competition image. I would create the same bird with AI and impose it to the crystals birds! Enjoy your time! |

Hi Gunter. I attended PSA course called 'Image Analysis'. Jon Fishback APSA was my senior mentor. English is my second language. I learned those words from him. He said. Most importantly, our comments are meant to help the image makers to improve. Expression like ... it's not my cup of tea ... It's just an expression of our feeling. It will not help the makers to improve. Photography is so much a personel preference. |

Hi Peter. Thanks for your good comments and suggestions. You are not alone. Some friends suggested me to make the bloody marking using red pantone color for blood. Thanks for your feedback. |

Analysis is not designed to find something wrong. It is designed to see something right, and then see things that may be improved upon. Analysis is not designed to correct what is wrong, but to suggest what may be done to improve in the future. Many times it is not what is said that is painful, but the way it is said. 99% or 98.5% is just a number. To me. What it's important is how we appreciate somebody else creation and efforts! Just my two cents! |

Hi Mike. Thanks for your good words. To answer your question. Not everything is from my own capture. I used photoshop brush and out side layers. Please refer to my note to Gunter and Jan Handyman above? |

Hi Gunter. Thanks for your good words. Thanks for your reminders about PSA policy about AI. I just learned to understand. It's not just about AI. PSA do not allow the usage outside clipart, replacement skies, or stock images. All images must originate as photographs made by the entrant. Other than for editorial purposes. My question to Jan Handman and others. Does this rule apply specifically for PSA exhibitions (salon) or is it also applied to this DDG? How about using photoshop brush to create blood, tears, fogs, clouds etc? |

Hi Jan. I really appreciate your review and constructive suggestion. That's one of the reason we all need friends to look into our 'craftsmanship'. I reduced the Medusa soul opacity from 68 to 28%. I also removed part of her leg to make it the soul like flying in the air. Any comments? |

Hi Kirk. I thought it was in Japan. When I have a close look of the gate at the end of path. Yes. I am sure this is China not Japan. The lady with pink umbrella is definitely a story telling element into this image. It gives the sense of height and depth of the pass! Job well done. No complain and no suggestion :). |

Hi Geoff. Bungle Bungles is one of my dream place for photography in Australia. I wonder if they call this spot as Cathedral Gorge? I like the angel and it's stone texture details. The overall image look a bit too saturated in my monitor. I wonder if this was the real situation or something you can adjust during post process. |

Hi Pierre. Nice capture, nice composition. I agree with Kirk suggestion to dehaze 'a bit' (but not too much) to make it more vivid and pop. This is more of personal taste. Keep sharing your nice shots with us Pierre. |

Hi Pierre. Yes indeed. This is my first drone image on PSA DD 70. Thanks you noted it. I am really grateful. I could enjoy this National Rainforest. The original RAW from drone was a bit flat. |

Hi Barbara. I have been making comments to our friend images here in DDG 90. I can be very naive. I would bluntly say ... please review what Barbara has posted this month here. This is really the style that I love so much. Soft, blur and mesmerizing background with partially and graduated sharpness of the animal fur and ultimately move to the animal sharp eyes! Excellent example. No complain. Just two 'like' thumbs up! :) |

Hi Richard. This image really tell me you photography skill sets. To me, it's excellent. You deserve all good words from our friends here in DDG 90. Like what Barbara said. I always what I would do if this was my own image? My answer in this case. I would add a bit of blur, soft and dim background to make the bird looks captured from the wild. It just a personal preference. |

Hi Janet. What a unique image. Like Barbara. My first impression this was an image of chillies. I just realized this was rows of Chrysalides after reading your explanations. You mentioned abou adding a little texture to the background and a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis from another image. I think this is more as composite or altered reality image rather than nature plus. The issue of composite images is always smooth edges between elements and background. To make it looks integral rathe than cut and paste elements. |

Hi Howie. What a candid Wild life. You capture this Otter at the right moment! I also review your 'Howie Images'. I see you as a serious and seasoned wildlife Photographer. I love to see your 'Jaguar starring' from Brazil. The fur looks nice and soft. I saw a bit of over sharpening here in your Giant Sea otter. I experience the same when I apply Topaz AI to my sharp images. AI application tend to ruin my sharp images. They over do it. Some time I apply AI sharpening just to a small part with very tight masking. To me. The beauty of wildlife images are when sharp elements appear among soft and a bit of blur background. |

Hi Janet. I am glad you noted it. Indeed. I make partial contrast adjustment to make the green banana and the baby orangutan face more contrast. Then apply a bit of vignette around them to make it more pop. Thanks for your good words! |

Thanks Richard. I feel blessed. With my age. I can see Orangutan in their natural habitat in Tanjung Puting. There are so many Orangutan images in the internet. I purposely make a tight crop and fine tune with 'level adjustment' in PS to get unique tonality and look different. I am glad you note it. |
