Hi Mike. I agree with all good words from our friends here. I have similar images of your original 1 and original 2. I never use Topaz Studio 2 Expressionism Filter. I want to experiment how it looks if the filter is applied only to the background (original 1). But keep the other elements (original 2) as sharp as it is. As always. You inspired me Mike. You make my brain works. :) |

Hi Jan. What a wonderful creation. How you make this La Hoja Cove Tree - Coast Teatree (Leptospermum laevigatum) to this creation. I love how you partially expose the tree textures and bring it into a misty mood creation. I know the tree (original 2) is not far away from your home? How about the flower garden? It almost look like Keukenhof Tulip Garden in Holland. |

Hi Steve. You have a good eye. Indeed. It took me a while to clone my granddaughter's arm and place it as her friend arms. AI did not work well for this case. Do you think you would notice it if I did not include the originals? :) |

Hi Mike. Thanks for your comments and suggestion. I puppet warp in PS to set my granddaughter arms in harmony to her friends. That's also my reason to dim out some of my granddaughter arms. |

Hi Gunter. Thanks for your comments and suggestions. You are right. Many dance recitals or competitions will not allow audience taking pictures. Proffesional photographers are there selling pictures and videos. In this case. I know the dance school owner. She allowed me to take pictures as long no flash light. I shot it with high ISO and denoise it in LR or Topaz AI. |

Hi Jan. This was my original crop. I purposely include the second dancer to get our group opinions. I dimmed out the hands in order to get the sense of movement. Your suggestion to keep the same light intensity to all arms is well appreciated. Thanks for your comments and suggestions. |

Hi Kirk. I appreciate your Geoff feedback about the image horizon. I sometimes too excited with my own image and forget about a small thing. You asked if this image deserve for a competition piece. To me. Yes. it does. I guess the judge would request you to submitt your RAW file. To ensure it's original sky and the standing guy. It's awfully perfect to me. Too good to be true :). My only suggestion would be to reduce the whole saturation a bit. Some judges are very sensitive to overly saturated or HDR looked images. Good luck Kirk! |

Hi Kathryn. It's a nice home town! Normally, we were not too excited capturing our home town. My suggestion is to desaturate bulding area espescially the bright yellow wall. I would make the ship on the right more obvious as this would be my subject. |

Hi Stefan. I don't feel like to 'copy paste' :) good words from our friends here. I agree with Geoff. I want to see wider scene. I can see your post processing objectives here. To me, the top part of the building is a bit overly dim out. |

Hi Pierre. You used your Olympus. Sturdy Tripod, Bulb mode. You are well equipped for this image! Wow! The composition, the horizon is just perfect. The image subject, to me, is the bridge. I used level tool in PS to increase the whole brightness and apply local contrast just to the whole bridge and 'double contrast' towards end of the bridge. Apply partially less contrast to bridge reflection. IMHO, it just a matter of taste. It's great shot! |

Hi Tami. To me. The turtle and the water splash are the subjects here. I agree with Pierre. The turtle is a bit "lost" in the image. Applying strong contrast like what Pierre suggested does help. However, the whole image is a bit overly saturated in my monitor. I suggest to desaturate the background to make the turtle a bit more outstanding. Unfortunately, this would be more to a nature than a landscape photography! |

You have done a great job in general basic adjustment. The next step is to learn partial or selective adjustment. This is a good tutorial by Juliane Kost the LR guru. Enjoy your learning time.

Oh. You focus more on Nature Photography. Last week. I came back from Papua for Lembah Baliem Festival. It's about culture. If you have no objection to see their 'half naked' traditional outfits. This is my video link to celebreate 79th Indonesia Independence day. The captions is in Indonesian language. But the pictures tell more words that the caption.

Hi Minette. Welcome to the club. I used to play golf. I consider you were so lucky to get this image. To me, this would be an eye catching image for a golf magazine. I would crop it tighter just to show the golf ball and the bird. |

Hi Dan. You have a proper gadget with appropriate camera settings. The backlight really makes the bird look stunning. I agree with LC comments. The scene, looks a bit busy to me. I would consider removing the two birds to let my viewers eyes to see the calm mood of the two backlited birds. |

Hi Ginny. I agree with Barbara and Dan. The ultimate animal pictures are their eyes. In his case. You need to partially brightened the bird eye and face. In certain case. I will even manually retouch the bird eye with my pen tools. |

Hi LC. You have a good eye. This is not my quality image. The original quality of the mouth and eye was worst. I have improved it by using Topaz AI. It helps a bit. Only to a certain degree. I really appreciate your feedback. The mouth and eye should be sharp straight out of camera. |
