Hi Mike. Like you. I am just a granddad who loved my grand kids so much. I can feel how you enjoy your time altering your grand kids pictures and making fun with it. I think you have done great in isolating your objects. My critical eyes did not find any cut and paste or masking issues here. Nice work. God job grandpi! |

Hi Jan. I really enjoy watching this image and think what would be my comments. Indeed, there is not much words came out from my mind. I just love this monochrome creation. It's another art works beyond my imagination. No suggestion. To me, It's a perfect touch! |

It reminds me of autostereogram or 3D photo works. I have no suggestions or comments. I agree with Jan. It's definitely altered reality. |

Hi Gunter. I have seen some of your creations. I never realize you also like Japanese art genre. Like what Jan said. I see a bit of imperfection the orange patch on bird left wing. I think it's a matter of masking. I would normally chose smooth, soft edge mask with tiny feather. Some times, I would use luminosity mask to ensure smooth transition and natural edges of my object. I just love the over all result. |

Hi Gunter. I hear your comments. The dancer and it's light painting alone already attract my friend attention who loves painting. She asked my permission if I would allow her to make a painting based on this image. |

Hi Jan. Your comments are really encouraging. I appreciate your suggestion to dodge the Barong face a bit to make it more pop. The thin red border is really an awesome final touch. Thanks. |

Hi Kirk. I love the angle and compositions of this image. I agree with Pierre. The overall contrast and sharpness is a bit too much for me. Please review my comments to Geoff Wiggins comments this month. I shared my learning process from a famous landscape photographer Mark Denney from this link.

Hi Geoff. I agree and recognize the group comments here. The backlights, light fall to certain areas etc. The whole scene is sharp and colorful. Your post this month reminds me on what I learned lately. How to add an ethereal glow for calming landscape photos. This is so much personal taste though. I learned it from Mark Denney from this link.

Hi Stefaan. It really 'a wow image'. I like your post processing. How you dodge and burn the building to make it looks more dimensional. I also like the signage reflection on water ripples. However, it's a bit awkward to me when the ripples stop in a small area around the reflections. I think it would be nice to have a bit of ripples in whole water area. I also suggest you add more space around the building. The sky, the water, left and right of the building. The crop is a bit too tight for me. It's just a personal preference. |

Hi Pierre. I wonder if you have a short video of these scene. If you do. I think it's a perfect subject for creating amazing cinemagraph. You might want to review this inspiring video by Juliane Kost.

Not many photographers has a luck to capture this kind of event. Roy Killen, my Nature Photography mentor said "the most important part of a nature image is the nature story it tells". He classified this kind of same species interactions as Level 3. Where 5 is the highest. Please review his article 'Guide for Judges Nature Photography'.

You asked our opinion about cropping. I would intentionally crop more to make the fighting birds look more obvious. I did a bit of dodge and burn to make more dramatic. |

I agree with Jack. It's a nice capture! It needs a bit of post editing. I know Ginny is in the process of learning it. Learning LR and PS is really time consuming and need a lot patient. Keep learning Ginny. |
