Candy. You are right. One of my pitfalls was wanting to include too many element features that literally competing to my main subject. Thanks for your suggestion. |

Gunter. Thanks for your suggestion. You make me realize that may be I am too 'greedy' to include many different elements of the scene. Actually the key element scene is the welcoming statue. |

Hi Jan. From your explanation, I can feel how you enjoyed the process of composing this image. My interpretation to this image. The man got the key to open the right man hole towards the stair case. It's a matter of time and efforts how one would grow to the next level. Awesome creations. |

Hi Candy, I just love how you create the mood from original 1 and original 2 to the finished image. Partial desaturation, fading the truck and add fog. This a fine skill how to express your imagination onto Photoshop canvas.

Hi Kirk. This a nice classic frame style image. I like to see how you expose the midday shadows of the front gate. I agree with Pierre a slight perspective adjustment would make this image more interesting. Nice shot Kirk. |

Hi Kathryn. You must have been very lucky to get this scenic aurora. I have a friend that waited for almost 3 weeks in Finland but not getting any aurora. This is a unique set. Where you get clouds and sea ripples. I saw the horizon line is a bit curvy. It likely need a minor adjustment.

Hi Geoff. I agree with Pierre. This is unusual and rare shots. I know you are active in FAPS and AAPS. How would be their likely taste to post editing? |

Hi Terina. One thing that I really appreciate is how you prepare your self to shoot this image. My PSA Senior mentor taught me the difference between snapshot and fine art photography. I did not find any sign of halo with this kind of contrast lighting image. I believe you must have done optimum editing process. I am not sure if the other group members agree. This image was taken with 18 mm lens. I think it needs a bit of keystone adjustment to improve it's perspective. |

Hi Pierre. This is so much my style when shooting aurora or other fascinating skies. I love to get this kind of grass and tree foreground. I am not sure if my eyes is right. To me, it's a bit blurry. The 1/100 sec speed may not be sufficient for 100 mm lens and wind might also contribute. I think this would not be a big issue to improve the foreground sharpness. |

Hi Tami. You have chosen perfect camera setting. As a result, you got nice and clear light trails. I agree with Pierre. Lightroom has effective tools to correct this perspective issue. I found one of the most concise but descriptive tutorial how to correct perspective distortion in the following link.

Hi David. You are lucky to get this moment. I like your style shooting into the sun. Our constraints, however, the bird's eye did not get enough exposure and it is not easy to recover it. I found Matt Kloskowski tutorial is good in explainingg how to edit the bird's eye.

Hi Dan. I imagined you must have been waiting for a while to get this candid moment. I wonder how you decided your camera setting. I normally set my camera at speed priority (1/1500 - 1/2500 sec), auto ISO with burst mode to anticipate the bird fly.
To me, it's a perfect shot. My suggestion is to darkened the tree drunk so the bird would get the first eye attention. |

Hi Julie, I agree with you. The dead tree in the foreground add interest. It's an interesting subject. It would be good if it includes the whole chunk of the subject. |

Thanks Dan. I did background desaturation. May be, it's a bit too much so it blends with the subject. |

Hi Ginny, thanks for your feedback. Indeed, that's one of my pitfalls. I tend to look into the actual details when editing but not spending enough time to review the overall look. |
