Thanks Lamar. I really appreciate your word 'just the right amount'. I always want to gage my self from experience friends like you. |

Hi San, I like your edit, especially, your dodge and burn. One thing that I like here you cautious us by saying it might be too saturated. Over-saturated is a common pitfall for landscape photography salon. Some friends experienced their travel photos get rejected notes due to oversaturation.

This suggests me to cut a bit the empty space on the left. Thanks for your suggestion. |

I agree with you. You need to tune down in PS a bit to make look more natural. |

Hi Kathryn, I like how you composed the mountain on the right. I agree with Pierre, I would adjust the over all scene to be more vivid and adjust the sky to more blue hour mood.

Excellent shot and composition between the arc and the milky way. Like Pierre, I was wondering how did you get the back light behind the arc. |

Hi Pierre, I always get excited when saw layers of foggy hills like this. My immediate instinct is always try in BW. This is just an alternative. |

Hi Lamar, I think you have done it perfectly. My first impression the reflection was done in PS. But when I observed it carefully. I know it's all original. I think you did minimum re-touch because of you have done excellent shot and the nature was in your favor. |

Hi Mary, first welcome to the club. Like what Pierre said, I can fully understand your frustration. I follow many photo salons since 2018, got many Accepted, but only one or two get more than Accepted but never get any medals or awards.
So, I attend an on-line class from PSA: Creating Images for Competitions. In one of the lessons, the mentor requested me to review set of Salon Catalogues and asked me to compare those Accepted images with the one that got medals. Surprisingly, I found some images that got Gold Medal in one particular salon was not even get Accepted in another salon. When I asked my mentor why that happened? He just give me a short answer. That is very common Frans! You like it or not, photo salon is so much subjective.
Now back to your image. I think you have fulfilled all requirements for a good landscape photo. At least that's what I learned from Nigel Danson - 4 Landscape Photography Tips https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niPmiExf_OQ
To me, you have done optimum re-touch to this image. IMHO, all you need is don't get stuck with one particular image. Try your luck with another set of images. At least that's what I do now. Keep learning and keep trying! |

Hi Pierre,
Thank you so much for your genuine comments. I admired how you remember my post in Oct 2019. Indeed, it was in the same road of journey. I got Accepted several times for that image, and try my fortune for this image.
Warm regards from Indonesia
