70 May 21 Comment Hi Judy, I agree with Pierre and San for you have the right time to capture this image. I purchase a Luminosity Mask Panel for almost three years ago. But I have just comeback learn how to use it a couple of months ago. This image is a perfect example for Luminosity Mask application. I only want brightened part of the sky and part of water reflection where I want to emphasize dimension of this image. I wonder if you can see the before after effect of the luminosity mask. May 24th
70 May 21 Comment Hi Kathryn, knowing this is a straight out of camera image. You deserve for my full empathy by saying ... the lighting isn't the best ... I couldn't get anyone to chop down that tree in the front ... but the view is pretty nice. Indeed the view is very nice ... and one thing that I like so much is how you make self evaluation to your own image. Thanks Kathryn, we are all here to share a lesson for others. May 24th
70 May 21 Comment As a landscape photography lover, to me, this is a stunning image. You have the bright sky with its sun rays onto the waves as the subject. The Composition that effectively guide my eyes through the image. The light that definitely brings impact to attract my eyes to study more of the image. The timing with well lit subject. My suggestion is partially brightening part of the churning waves and the sky to make it more dramatic. Nice shot San. May 24th
70 May 21 Comment Hi Pierre. I just love how you composed your objects from left to right following the leading lines. As I learned more about surrealist landscapes, I tend to agree with San comments above. To me, this is a very good candidate for a surrealist landscape that shown reflect the uncanny, sometimes elusive imagery of dreams, myth, and fantasy.

70 May 21 Comment Lamar, your statement ... my objective was to capture the foreground in sharp focus, but to present the background out of focus to create the feeling that one is immersed in a whole field of them ... reminds me of the first question from my PSA Senior mentor when submitting photos for projects. ... What is your objective of capturing this image? ...

I think you have achieved your main objectives of capturing this image. IMHO this image image is stronger if cropped in portrait.

70 May 21 Reply Lamar, I really appreciate your thoughts. Indeed, the final image just get accepted. I suspect (like what you said) the overall composition was not strong enough even just for HM. May 22nd
