Hi Wayne. Welcome to the club.
First thing that strike my eyes was the bright mountain at the back. I love Zion National Park. I got many shots from there.
To me, mountain at the back is my focal point that brings impact to this image. I like the composition. And, Judy's cropping suggestion definitely makes the mountain looked more prominent.
I would likely suggest selective reduction of vibrance and saturation of foreground and middle-ground. I would specifically suggest less saturation on the red part of the rock on the right. This red object keep pulling my eyes when pondering the image.
I appreciate you took the effort to hike up the creek to get this angle. I know it always tempted to shoot from unusual angle here. However, I always consider our own safety when shooting in this kind of arena. Nice shot Wayne.

Hi Wayne, welcome to the club. I have the same concern about the dark tree on the left. I have tried cropping it both horizontally and vertically. Unfortunately, I lost tremendous amount of area with interesting light rays on left and bottom of the image. I have also tried to remove the tree by cloning it but the result seem to be unnatural. I should have tried reverse cloning transparent branches to lit the tree a bit. Thanks for feedback Wayne. |

Thanks for the idea of brightening the tree trunks. I wish I could have read this comment before sending this image for German Circuit 2020. |

Hi Judy,
While others has given you general photography comments let me be more specific giving you comments in Sky Replacement.
I did a lot of Sky Replacement for my Travel Photos. I did it all in Photoshop. It is much easier to do Sky Replacement with Luminar 4, Although, the software is awfully slow as a Lightroom plug-in.
The trick of successful Sky Replacement is choosing suitable sky with appropriate light direction.
I think you have chosen suitable sky and light direction. My suggestion is to tweak the water color and match it with sky color. I think, it will look more natural to change the water color rather than to change the sky color. Nice efforts Judy. |

I think I agree with Judy, Wayne and Lamar comments. First, the composition is just perfect. I agree to tune down the dark sky a bit to make more balance in the overall look. It's a bit to crisp too my taste. Nice work Todd. |

Hi Pierre,
I love the idea how you compose the image in three color layers. Dark grey, light brown and white. I suggest you keep the color as it is. To me, its unique. Let's compare with portrait composition. I think this is stronger than the landscape format. |

My first impression when viewing this image was the yellow canoe and the sun rise. To me, this was the impact element and fixation points of the image. I love this simple composition and also its color harmony. I wonder if I see a bit of chromatic aberration on the left of the image. Where trees were back-lighted by sun light. |
