Hi Judy, I think I like your original image in color. Although, I don't disagree with Lamar suggestion that the B&W version has it's own beauty. I like the composition, I like the color harmony and the creativity to chose this angle. My only suggestion is to brightened the area below the rock arc to make it as center of the interest areas. Nice work Judy. |

I am in a full agreement with Lamar's comment. The sky and the top part of the Canyon is the impact of the whole scene. A bit of cropping and make it panoramic would make this image much more stunning. |

Hi Glenn. I like your words: the sunset didn't do what it was told and wasn't as colourful as I would have liked.
I think that's a common grievance of most photographers like us.
I would normally do a bit of researching the place to be visited through internet. Then, prepare my gadget and build my imagination for what I want to shoot. However, it could never been as what I wish. That happened to me many times.
That what makes me appreciate technology advancement for photography post processing. And, I spend times to enjoy those post processing techniques.
Recently, I amazed how Skylum just issued Luminar 4 for much easier Sky Replacement compare to Photoshop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=GeYmvHX-dww&feature=emb_logo
By the way, I did a little bit of tweaking your image in Lightroom. Hope you like it. Best regards from Indonesia.

Hi Todd, first, congratulation for winning the Anza-Borrego State Park Contest. For this image, what I like the most is the sky. Indeed it's dramatic. To me, it is the impact of the whole image. I suggest you experiment turning down the highlight and the exposure of the rocks. Make it a bit softer so the viewer eyes spend more time to ponder the dramatic sky. Keep up a good work Todd. |

Hi Piere, I just came back from winter vacation in Norway and Findland. These are the scenery I have seen for two weeks. I really appreciate your creativity waiting for people walking and wait until one third of the horizontal frame to create sense of movement and nice composition. Job well done Pierre. |

To me, the sun and its reflection on the beach is definitely the 'Impact' of this picture. I like the image quality; Depth of Field has likely been thoroughly considered by shooting at f/11 to get sharp foreground to the end.
My only suggestion is to crop it as attached for more effective composition. Good work Lamar!
