Judy, it's a unique image. I agree with you, the image is stronger in portrait composition.
Like Kathryn and Lamar, the fore ground plant at the bottom left corner is a bit distracting.
Note to all: is it (ethically/ officially) legal to remove distracting object for formal photography?
I love the Rock texture, it would be more outstanding by edge sharpening. |

Kathryn, you must have been very lucky getting opportunity to capture this image. I just won't dare to dream to visit this place.
I agree with Glen, Pano make your image stronger.
What I would do to make it even more dramatic is sharpening (just) the edge of the ice tips. In Lightroom by adjusting Masking in the Sharpening panel.

Glen, I love the composition and the peak of the wave on the half left of the image is just awesome. What I would do to make it stronger is sharpening the wave splash especially at the peak of the wave.
It can be done in Lightroom by using Radial Filter or if you want it more precise it has to be by sharpened mask in Photoshop.

Charles, it's an awesome composition. What I like most from your image is the sun light from left to right through the walkway. To me, it is well done. |

Piere, what a coincident. My camera is also Canon 6d Mark II and last but not least, I always shoot in bracket 3 captures (-1, 0, +1). In extreme rare, I don't mind 7 bracket captures.
My reasons are fairly simple. Most places that I visited are once in a live time journey. I will not be coming back. So, when taking pictures I concentrated mostly on compositions and moments. Exposure? I took it for granted by bracketing it. I just do not want to miss the opportunity.
Bracket exposure will give me much more freedom during post processing, either to use single image editing, HDR or even Multiple Exposure Blending.
I like you choose Pano format. To me, the real lighting conditions had make half right of the pictures looks a bit dim. What I normally did for this kind of darker areas is enlightening it by using radial filter in Lightroom: increase the exposure, highlight and shadow and adjust the white balance to create partial sun light through clouds to make it a bit more dramatic.

Glen, your editing makes the picture looks more calm and peaceful.
In my opinion, editing is not just to make the picture become nicer or more outstanding. Editing also carries the objective of the image.
I think, Glens's editing would be most suitable if we would use this image for a background of a wisdom quotes (for example). However, I would prefer Lamar editing if it is for exhibition or display.

Thanks Kathryne. In photography, I believe in lucky moments. We were just about to finish and go home. When all of sudden I saw a group of farmers walking through the path and the last one was wearing strong red shirt. I waited patiently and took a series of farmers movement. |

Piere, I have experiment cropping the bottom of the picture and also exclude the farmer house at the right bottom. It makes a stronger composition. Thanks Piere! |
