Both images are lovely, Denise. I like the contrast in the original. But the purple flowers in the background on the final complement the yellow in the flower nicely. That adds a color contrast.
To me, the background is not too busy. It is part of the story. In my opinion, "business" is denigrated all to often. Life IS busy! That being said, your background emphasizes the flower, and in my opinion, it is far from being "too busy." |

Lovely! I like both the original and the final version. The colors are fantastic and the scene itself is beautiful. I really like that you added the mountains to the image.
The water feature on the mid left, is also attractive. I'm wondering if you might enlarge that feature a bit, if it would add even more to the image? |

Your processing really helps this image. I like the monotone you added a lot.
I don't know why, but the old adage of using an odd number of primary objects in a photo, still triggers something in me. With two objects in parallel, I feel uncomfortable as they are both straight up and down. To add a bit of excitement to this image, I would turn the right accordion so that it tilts toward the center a bit more.Perhaps it would also help to remove the white covered stool.
I wanted to try out these changes, but for some reason, PS is no longer working on my computer. I'm not sure what is going on, as my Photographer's PS package has been fully paid for this month. Adobe is not a very user friendly app! |

While I liked the color in the original, I appreciate your image in black and white also. Denise's take, with a bit more definition to the lower left background, sans hot spots, is an improvement in my estimation.
One thing that seems to bother me, is the crop. Personally, I prefer a subject to be off center, perhaps a bit to the lower right? |

What a lovely scene! You did a great job with the silky water and the sky replacement. I have never been able to resist taking similar images when on the coast. There is something nostalgic about such scenes.
I felt a bit uncomfortable about the bird looking out of the image, so I moved him forward, to the left and cropped the image a bit tighter. What do you think?
