Yes, I have attended these again. However, you are only allowed about 24 hours to see them, after they are broadcast live. Most of the seeions are pretty good. If you want a longer time to keep and review them, you have to purchase the 4 days of tutorials. I believe the price is really cheap, at around $99. I could be wrong on these numbers, so check them out when you register. Choose your courses (for your own benefit) so you can put their time on your calendar. Have fun! Thanks for your comment on printing the picture. I had thought of that, but didn't do it. With your encouragement, I think I will do it! Thanks! |

Nice job of converting to B & W. I really appreciate the added texture.
Personally, I would have liked this image more if the ukalali were at an angle. To me, strictly verticle or horizontal of any subject seems to lack interest. But I don't know how you would do that unless you were able to change the location of the instrument before you took the picture. |

The color you applied is beautful. This is a serenne image, reminiscent of a peaceful time.
To me, the scene seems unbalanced. The rocks on one bottom side together with the high arched of the bridge weigh heavily on the right side. So I tried to balance it out.
I copied the rocks and pasted them on the left side . Then I warped the left side rocks to make a V of rocks. They needed to draw less attention (weight), so I slected and blured the roces. Then I color picked the color cast on the water and applied a solid adjustment layer in that color.
Next, I cropped down on the sky. Following that, I opened NIK Color Efex Pro and used the Darken/Lighten center preset. In that, I placed the center on the fishing boat and darkened the outside of the image. |

I really like your Original 1, as well as original 2. However, you out did yourself with your completed post-processing. I do like the result. The toning and motion blur make the result seem almost like glass reflections which are perceptually jolting! Such fun! |

That crop was perfect, in my opinion. The photo was excellent, and really is a major part of the story here. Good story, nice work!
I have two suggestions. In my opinion, there is too much clare from the flour. I prefered the image of that exploding flour in the original. In my opinion, the increased glare of the flour in the final made the book almost undefinable. I would prefer the book should show a marked distincion in tone. As it is, I didn't even realize there was a book there until I read your description.
It was good that you brought back some distinction in his face. In my opinion, his face needs more distinction. Maybe a little bit of color brought back with a mask whitened around his face, so the background layer would show through on his face just a tad more. |

This is a very beautiful, yet chilling, image! (I'm freezing here in Oregon, while reading a novel that takes place in a 20 below zero area!)
I like your crop. The original was too bottom heavy. The way you handled the reflections also cleared some of the fog, it seems. All of your post processing really created a nice image.
Stay warm! |
