The texture and colors are perfect to me, in both versions. I also like both versions of the stem (yours and Witta's). This is a stunning image, in my opinion, and I have no suggestions. |

This is a bright and beautiful image. I love the way you blurred the background. The colors of the flower with the back lighting, are very appealing.
One thing that kept distracting my eye was the dark blob of the blurred flower in the middle of the other two flowers. I used Edit > Fill > Content Aware to remove it. However, other techniques to remove it would be to add a Solid Color adjustment layer of a lighter color above it, invert the mask to black, and paint with semi-opacity soft brush over that area, to blend it in more. I liked Witta's second crop, so used a similar one.
This is really a beautiful image, in my opinion. |

Nice, tack sharp image, as is the tilt of the dandelion.
Fine art photography is, to me, something that a decorator might hang on a wall, aside from a straight photograph.
Here is one idea on how to change this up a bit. I duplicated the background layer and then in PS: Image > Adjustments > Invert. I also tried duplicating that layer and using several different blending modes. Here is the softer image without the third layer. |

The flowers are quite lovely. The curve of the flower branch is well placed. I do like the flowers against the bark. It tells a story of nature. I once did a painting of a rose against a grass/weed like background. I always loved that picture! Go to a botanical garden and one will frequently see such a contrast.
This is what I found distracting: The blurriness of the upper bark and the colored artifacts. The artifacts could be removed with the healing brush in PS. The original image would have been a good candidate for focus stacking, using a tripod. |

Magnificent! I do hope your friend accepts this wonderful image for her bedroom!
I have no suggestions. You did a masterful job by adding the blue and purple colors on the edges. Images of roses are not often thought of highly by photographers, because they are so common. But you turned an ordinary (and beautiful) rose into a work of art! |

What a fortunate catch! It's a lovely image with a great story.
I too agree with Witta's comments. I find the bright lights in the color image to still be too burnt out. They do not appear to be so burnt out in the B/W version.
I downloaded Witta's version, and selected a color that surrounded the lights, added a solid color adjustment layer (in selected color). Then I inverted the adjustment layer mask to black and painted with 50% opacity white over each light bulb, to bring out the color on the solid color adjustment layer. |
