You have caused me to fall in love with Steampunk, even more than my casual appreciation of it before seeing your images. This image is amazing and my favorite this month. Your composition, texture and coloring in this image are inspirational. Please keep up your work in this venue, at least part of the time! |

You did well with what you had on hand. Hope you get the computing situation fixed soon. Computer equipment can be so very frustrating! |

I also agree with what has been said. This is a wonderful image, and I appreciate your creative planning process! Yesterday, National Public Radio (NPR) had an informative program on the creative process. It seems there are two types of such process. One is that in which the final product is visualized before the actual execution of the final process. the other is the experimental creative process. With that, there is no preconceived end product, but many trial and error products, using various inspirational elements, until a pleasing product results. Usually, I am the latter type of creator. In this case, you have exhibited the first type of creation, and the result is excellent!

I'm fascinated by the geometry in your image! Your use of the gradient tool is quite effective, in my opinion. One thing you might wish to do is to remove some of the gradient from the upper outer lip of the inner box. The light surrounding that box seems to be brighter all around the box, though the lip does not follow the same pattern of illumination. I really love the geometry you drew! When I was about 4 years old, a stranger knocked on our door during a bad thunder storm. His car had stalled and he needed to call for help. Inside, he went to my easel and showed me how to draw a three dimensional house. I was so fascinated! He triggered a life long interest in art for me, and I am particularly fond of images with a strong geometry! your's is really lovely. |

The BW toned conversion really does emphasize the beauty of this animal. You applied a good treatment to it, in my opinion. |

How fun! I appreciate the sharpness of the image in the ball in contrast to the foil of the blurred background. I'm curious as to how the ball can be used in a still life. My first experience with the ball was last Christmas time, when our club did a photoshoot downtown with one. At that time, I was not impressed. but you have shown us a better and more fun was of reaping its potential! thanks!

Some of my favorite flowers, e.g., Magnolia tree flowers, have bitten the dust when I plant them! Now that we are living in Magnolia country, perhaps we'll have better luck. Thanks for the name of those beautiful flowers! |
