Your image indeed tells a strong story and imparts a strong feeling of what is conveyed by your title. I agree with Stever, it has great emotional impact! Well done. |

I do love the geometric quality of your image and agree that perhaps an upper crop would emphasize the pyramid more, as the central subject.Perhaps darkening the color or doing something to increase the opacity of the pyramid would help also, as it would pull the focal points back to the pyramid, away from the black of the lines. Steve did something similar by adding a Goth face as the subject and focal point! I do like what he did. |

Alan, your style reminds me somewhat of Salvador Dali, though the simplicity that you bring to your images is your own unique twist (which is good, in my opinion). I do like the glass-like effect of the water. The straight line effect, with a larger softer brush on the outside and a slightly harder but smaller brush as a straight line up the center, is one that can be used with a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer in various degrees of subtlety, in many different scenarios. You use it quite blatantly here, to emphasize the subject, and it works well. |

Candy, without the color, I didn't originally connect your image with Day of the Dead! The monochrome treatment you used certainly changed the mood. The mood you convey is every bit as good as the mood of colorful Day of the Dead pageantry! In fact, I prefer your version. In addition to everything else, you did a really good job of removing the background clutter. Great job! |

In my opinion, you handled those faces quite well. I really like the idea that you implemented. Jan's version adds even more appeal to me. One thing that I found distracting was the blotchiness of the spray. It's not so evident in Jan's version. |

Steve, I LOVE what you did to this image! Wish I had Goth masks around here! But I'm going to search for a similarly appropriate mask to put on this image. Thanks for the inspiration!
