What a lot of fun, setting up such an idea! That was my breakfast this morning! I applaud your sense of photographic adventure!

There is something magical about looking into the eyes of an animal. YOu did a good job of substituting the background. To me, the focal point of the white on the face is too strong and detracts from the eyes, which, in my opinion, should carry the major visual weight in the image. Jan did a good job of correcting that imbalance, in my opinion. |

Wow! His practice session must have been really stressful to turn his hair so white! :-) Seriously, you did a good job of photographing him and of accentuating the motion to convey 'frenzy'. I found myself wondering how the original image would have looked in just B&W. As a former pianist, I missed the black keys! So I tried to play with the image to capture the black keys and failed miserably. It would take hours, if it could be done, because of the movement with its transparency against the keys, and because of the irregular hairline. I like your version much better! |

I appreciate the mistyness and storybook nature of the image. It takes me right into the woods in my mind's eye.
I am not a fan of Topaz Simplify, and always take the 'simplify' down to a minimum when I use it. Personally, I don't like the weird shape that it gives to the brush. That step could have been omitted, in my opinion. |

I too love the way you did those reflections, as well as the water. Nice image.
I found myself wondering about the bright light source. I suppose it is a setting sun. However, perhaps a moon would do better. The reason is that the moon reflects the sun's light, and the light on the figures comes from their front. If it were from the setting sun, the images would be more silhouetted. |

Thanks for the suggestion Barbara! I'll check it out when I get home from the trip we are on. |

Normally I let the image just develop, without a very specific visualization goal. With this image, I wanted to learn how to make an architectural imprint on a face, but I didn't have the proper images, so I winged it and ended up with this image! |
