The light streaks add a lot to this image, in my opinion. They are so easy to put in, and add so much to many images, even when they are softer than the ones Jan used. In Jan's image, they even mitigate the need to crop so much (which apparently she did), as they 'balance' the image more and add visual interest, via the 'story' of the light reflections on the water!

Very well done Steve! Now I know how to get back some of my once thick, but now very thin, hair! :-) I also really like the way you handled the background.
Just a few trivial suggestions: There is hair sticking out over the top of his nose, which looks out of place to me. Also there is a soft gray ring around the outmost dark ring of the iris. It seems to have been introduced in the layering process. |

I agree with Jan and Steve. The way you de-emphasized the part of the image outside of the mirror and added the grunge, is very effective, in my opinion. I also liked what you did with the woman's hair, to bring it out a bit.
I agree that burning the bright vertical center line would help. To me, the mirror is too small a part of the image, to really be the focal point. To emphasize its prominence even more, I would crop off the bottom 1/4 of the image and a bit on each side. |

You've done a good job of turning an ordinary shot into something of interest. I've always wondered about what to do with those DaVinci sketches in Topaz Impression! The play of the light on the water also adds to the interest.
In my opinion, there is too much water. I prefer the amount of space allotted to the path in the original. Consequently, I would crop off 1/4 to 1/3 of the bottom of the image. |

Helen, this image is ingenious and delightful, in my opinion! I love the geometric look. The overall effect is very pleasing to me, in both the final and Original 3! |
