Oh my, this is my favorite this month! I love that Fibonacci spiral look in the lines of an image! Thank you so much for the tip on Hyper Droste.
I've seen lots of spiral images, usually staircases. Yours beats everyone of them. How clever to use a spool of crochet thread! The Droste pattern adds a crowning touch to the spiral, and you definitely added a pleasing 'oomph' with your PS tweaking! |

I love your concept and what you did with the geometric 'stamping'. Thanks for sharing that with us.
To me, the contrast between the warm color of the frame and the cool color of the bird image, is to grating.
I used NIK Color Efex Pro and NIK Viveza to bring out detail, structure, brightness and color contrast. Then I used Adjustment layers to desaturate and bring the colors closer together in warmth value. To do so, I used a Selective Color to subtract yellow and add magenta, after applying a HUE/Saturation adjustment layer and a Color Balance layer. On all of these layers, I masked out the bird. Finally, I applied a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer. My first try was lost when my computer froze. I'm not sure I like the final effect of the second try as much as I liked the first, lost attempt! But to me, the color values in the original did not harmonize. |

Nice image, Phil. I too did not prefer the color of the birds. Steve's black birds look better, to me. My preference would be to soften the edges of the diamond shaped highlight and use something a with a bit more texture. I added Topaz Texture 2, Grunge Punch preset. |

This is lovely Candy. I agree that adding a few people does add interest to the image. Lately, I've noticed that I prefer images that have animals or people in them, even if they are more abstract images! |

This is a fun image Steve! At first, my eye was attracted to the colors in the sky, which I did not particularly like. But on second look, those colors seem to fit in well with the overall treatment of the subject/story. I agree with Candy that the bright area in the sky is a bit distracting. However, you might want to put your signature in that area! The sizing of the people with respect to the statue seems off to me. However, on second look, I like what you did with that sizing. It emphasizes the story and the importance of the sitter, as an important consultant! Nice job!
