How fun! I'm glad you were not afraid to experiment with the tools you had on hand! I do like the colors and Fibonacci spiral. Phil's portrait orientation is a bit more appealing to me than the landscape version.
Sorry for the late comment. We are on an extended road trip and it's not easy to get to a computer where I can work!

Wow! I was blown away when I saw this. I do love it! The colors and lines and whimsical formation is beautiful, in my opinion. Good luck on those computer problems. We had a few also, before we left on our extended road trip! We are still on that trip and it is hard to get to a computer, so I apologize for being so late with my comments! |

In my opinion, this is a very dreamy and appealing, lovely image. There are two comments I thought of, with respect to my opinion of a 'critique'. Perhaps a little more structure to the flower would fixate the viewer's eye. Toning down of the brighter, multiple circle bokka to the right of the flower would appeal to me. The latter distracted me immediately. You might consider burning the duplicate layered circles or using an adjustment layer to tone them down.
It really is a very appealing image, all in all, in my opinion. |

I wish I could see the original photo and previous version. Since we are on a road trip, I don't have access to my own computer to look it up!
I like the shading you did. In my opinion, It would catch my fancy more if there were heavier shading leading to the center hole. Jan's rotation is appealing to me. Other than that, to me, the image is just not that appealing. However the practice doing all that you did, and your continual choice of unusual subjects is very appealing to me. You seem to 'think out of the box', and I really appreciate that! |

In my opinion, this is a wonderful example of how to turn a "blah" photo into a work of art! The color and texture is very pleasing to me. Good job!

We are on a road trip, and I apologize for not commenting sooner, before we left. Just forgot.
Steve, I like what you have done. I also agree about the strong texture on her face. You might consider decreasing it by removing that spot near her chin and just softening the side texture with a slight blur. She is such a lovely lady with such a sweet expression, I found myself just wanting to look at her and restore the 'aged' look of the image! |
