You have an excellent subject here, in my opinion. I agree with the other comments, especially I would like to see a more transparent wood over the man's face. I also agree that cropping beneath the beard could add more drama and focus to the man's face, in my opinion. |

Candy, I'm assuming that you used PS crop with the Content Aware option selected? |

The placement of the bird was intentional. I wanted the eye to be at a power point. Given that, it probably should have been either brighter or really starkly black, to make it pop out from the rest of the image. |

My apologies. I'm in the middle of a long anticipated and painstaking closing on a new build home, and am not all with it. I just forgot to upload the originals. |

Thank you so much for this tutorial! The result is absolutely lovely! You really did a great job of bringing out the highlights on the horses and hay. Playing with light is what it is all about! |

Nice effects! The color, lines, composition are very appealing. It reminds me of wind blowing. The sparkle in her eye is delightful. My preference would be to give her a chin, but that is just my preference! |

In addition, being in a playful mood with your image (sorry, but it is a fruitful image!), I applied a Georga O'Keefe effect from Topaz Impression 2. However, I greatly tweaked that effect and subsequently used a layer mask to bring back some of the green in the background. Hope you don't mind my playing with your image. I needed something to do on New Year's Day! |

Your image presents a very fun challenge. I appreciate what you did and the concept you present. In my opinion, I would like to see a bit more of the rose color repeated in the buds, and a bit less of the background, which seems to compete with the subject. So I added a layer and painted pink and yellow on it, put it at 58% opacity, and cropped off the right of the image, to put the large bud at a power point. I also added a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer, and lowered the brightness a lot and took the contrast up all the way. |

Wonderful! The colors, lines, intricacy, and overall image are very appealing to me. Can't say that there is anything that I might offer as an improvement.

Thanks for all those tips. The result is quite impressive. But I immediately went to look for how you inserted the background and eliminated the original background. Was it just with painting on a mask? That's very time consuming! |
