A very interesting bridge. To my eye, the crop is too tight drawing my eye to the edges of the image with what seems like a lot of negative space in the middle. Maybe shooting wider would have been a good option. |

I really like the silhouette against the vibrant colors of the sunrise in the sky and water. Did you crop this image? I also would like to see a bit more water.
Just curious, what did you do in post processing? |

The buildings are not a distraction at all. However, you could not enter this composition in a nature competition because of the buildings. That is, if you have any interest in competitions.
Framing the monument through the arch is very effective. To my eye, the arch has too much visual weight on the left side. Cropping slightly from the bottom and left side might improve the image.

I also agree that your composition is quite effective. The man and dog do add additional interest to the photo. However, to my eye, they are not quite in focus. Using focus stacking for this image might have been successful. |

I agree with previous comments about the sharpness of the beak and eye as well as capturing the light in the bird's eye. I also agree that the background is a bit distracting. I don't think I would erase the background as someone suggested, but you might consider other methods of toning it down such as desaturating it, darkening it, using a Gaussian blur, etc. Any of these methods might achieve the purpose. |

I do like the color tones in this image. It's almost a monochrome, but not quite. Just curious, did you do any desaturating of this image? I visited the Palouse several years ago also. All my images have much more color variation, especially green, even those taken very late in the day.
