There are some nice lines, shapes, and textures in this image. I think it might be more effective if it was cropped tighter. |

I think the cropped version is way more effective than the original. You might want to consider cropping just a bit more from the right side and the bottom so that the bird isn't quite so centered. |

I agree with previous comments about including the people and blurring the river a bit. You might want to consider cropping this image a little, especially on the top and the left side. |

I am a huge fan of reflections especially when a dramatic sky is reflected in the water. Overall, I really like this composition. To me, the image would be more effective if the reflection of the trees did not go out of the image. I would prefer to see some space between the trees and the bottom edge so that my eye is not led out of the image.
The sky definitely needed more POP and saturation. However to my eye, the overall pink colorcast does not look natural. The branches and greenery seem too pink. You might try masking or partially masking the color adjustments that you made. Perhaps something in between the original and the processed image might work better. |

I prefer the rectangular version rather than the square version. The square version is too symmetrical for my taste. I like the slight incline. You might want to see what happens if you make the incline a bit more pronounced. |

Did you lighten the foreground by doing a gradient curves or levels mask in PS?
