24 Sep 21 Comment This image has possibilities. I am struggling a little with the crop. The lower left part of the falls leads my eye into the image. However, the break between the lower and upper part of the falls breaks the line my eye is following. Is there a way to possibly lighten and blur that middle section a bit so that the path your eye takes isn't broken?

24 Sep 21 Comment This image has great possibilities. However, if it is a slide rather than digital there isn't really a lot you can do to recover highlights and shadows etc. Maybe next time you should consider posting an image for critique that you can actually make real changes to. Just a thought. Sep 30th
24 Sep 21 Reply My focus was directly on the surfer. I was using a 300mm lens, but was pretty far away due to high tide. I would need a longer lens to shoot surf images that did not need so much cropping. Sep 14th
24 Sep 21 Comment Great capture of such a brief moment in time. I'm learning that capturing birds in flight is not an easy task.

You used the clone tool to clean up the edges of the birds, however, I do see significant halos around parts of the birds, especially "north" or top edges of wings and feathers. You might consider desaturating the yellow a bit. My eye goes directly to the yellow parts because it is so bright.

24 Sep 21 Comment You did a good job of slowing the exposure to create the silky water. You might want to consider lightening the shadows a bit so that more detail is visible. Sep 8th
24 Sep 21 Reply I think with this image, contrast is the issue. For me, when I do a black and white image, I try to have some pure black and some pure white so that my image does not look flat. Sep 8th
24 Sep 21 Comment You did capture the light very well. This image works well as a monochrome. I'm just wondering if you really need all the negative space at the top of the image. You might want to consider cropping a bit off the top.

24 Sep 21 Reply I did lighten the surfer's face and arms. I guess I was too conservative with my adjustments. Sep 8th
