24 Aug 19 Reply James mentioned the HDR effect. That is what I was trying to convey to you, but you said you did nothing to edit the sky. Please help all of us here, the sky does not look quite natural. Is there anything we are all missing?

I am not trying to be super critical, but the sky just doesn't look right.

24 Aug 19 Comment James, I'm just wondering why you prefer the 5x4 ratio. That is not the native ratio of most cameras. Aug 26th
24 Aug 19 Comment Thank you so much for your input. Maybe I should crop a bit more (I never crop to predefinded sizes). I kind of feel like your crop is too severe and removes the context of the glacier. Maybe somewhere in between would be best. Does anyone else have an opinion? Aug 26th
24 Aug 19 Reply I'm not sure what you mean by cropping to 5x4 proportions to tighten image to key points. Could you possibly show me how you would crop it? Aug 25th
24 Aug 19 Comment The amount of sharpening looks much better. There is far less noise in the sky. Your new edit is much brighter than your original edit. You might want to consider dialing down the brightness just a bit. Aug 18th

24 Aug 19 Comment Jim, your image for July and this are like comparing apples and oranges. They are very different. Rotating the image so the jets were moving upward was a good choice. I am wondering if you should dial down the dehaze filter. The image feels a bit unnaturally sharp considering that the jets were moving. I think the dehaze might be accentuating the noise in the sky that does not exist in the original. Aug 14th
24 Aug 19 Comment James, You certainly caught a wonderful moment in time with this photo. Although I like the image with the tight crop, I kind of think the crop is too tight. I think you might consider several versions of this shot. The original image does give some context that is missing in the crop. What if you did something in between the original and the crop? Just a suggestion. Aug 14th
24 Aug 19 Comment The composition is effective. I do agree with Jim about possibly framing the image from a position more to the right. I personally "work the scene" with every photograph. I zoom in, zoom out, move here, move there, in the attempt to get the best composition.

I don't know exactly what it is, but something troubles me about the sky. The color seems slightly off and the clouds appear unnaturally defined. Just my opinion.

24 Aug 19 Comment I really like this image a lot. Having the man and boy on the intersection of thirds was an excellent choice, whether by crop or original framing. Photography is so much affected by chance, being at the right place at the right time. You definitely succeeded with this image. Aug 14th
24 Aug 19 Comment Sue, this is a very interesting and abstract image. Good eye to see the photographic quality here. You did a good job of cropping the image for maximum impact. Personally, I like the tonal contrast and color of the original image far better than the processed one. That is just my opinion however. Aug 14th
