24 Mar 18 Comment Laura Lee

Such a thoughtful comment. Hmm, I am not sure how I could crop it to get rid of that negative space. I could shoot again and reposition (certainly possible), but I am not sure how I would do that with the current image. Could you take a very quick attempt and show me what you are thinking. No pressure, I am just curious. I liked your bench crop and believe your suggestion is worth seeing - but the only way I can see it happening would be to loose the glass knobs, which I wouldn't want to do because I like them.

24 Mar 18 Comment Oops - I forgot to mention - the shot I took was with my cell phone again - it was a few weeks ago and I was still (sometimes still am) struggling to get the exposure correct with the Cannon. I am getting better - but wanted to be honest about the pic I am referencing. Mar 6th
24 Mar 18 Comment I have been photographing benches lately too. Not sure why they are attractive to me - but in yours I like the light. And while I like the color shot - I think the black and white is more dramatic.

24 Mar 18 Comment I am not sure I will ever be a dedicated photographer if 3:00 am starts are required. But it sure was worth it for this shot. I always love clouds, steam, fog shots - it adds so much character. Mar 6th
24 Mar 18 Comment I am seriously just floored by the technique of jiggling (very technical term) a flash light over a long exposure. Something I never even heard of. I will have to try that now. Not sure how. What a clean clear sharp picture. I didn't realize how much time would go into a shot like that. I appreciate the teaching of what is seemingly a simple shot. Mar 6th
24 Mar 18 Comment Lynette - I just love the blue umbrella. It is such nice contrast. And the blur of the back ground. But, as you both said - it is her expression that makes this shot. Mar 6th
24 Mar 18 Comment Philip - this is really great and inspiring to me. I love the depth. The consistent color in the front - the focus in the middle and the blur of the back - but with all the busy-ness - there is one clear theme. Super. Mar 6th
