Richard, you caught an interesting moment of family life in Vietnam. I am drawn to the faces of the little girls who look like they are going to the dentist or got taken away from a party. I think that having bland color fits with the girl's expressions. I am not sure what's happening on the sidewalk on the left side. Would you tell me what you think of my cloning it out? Jim |

Mark, you did well to capture the detailed surface of the terrace and kept the ethereal nature of steam to make it almost mystical. Well done. I don't get a sense of how large this geothermal terrace is, or how you got to be at your altitude to capture it. Please let us know where this is and how you got there. Jim |

Pete, I commend you on your artistic talent and discipline for all of your layers to present a very telling story. It takes a lot of work because it is very sad. Usually, I would suggest that you have a border to make the photo stand out, but this time it really works in your favor to let it extend into deep space and the void. I suggest that you consider making the water reflection and ripple lighter, showing the horizontal space where the teardrops land. Jim |

David, you got another great action shot here. Your focus and capture of the water rushing as she is making the turn, all make a great composition. Well done. Jim |

Keisha, this is very well done. I see you have more water droplets in the finished photo - nice touch. This fills in the negative space and adds interest to the entire field of view. Jim |

Pei-Fan, I am impressed with how you caught this cattle egret as it is pulling up its legs, and lifting its wings to lunge forward. Your dark background is well done, leaving the leaves to the left grounding its "jumping off" point. Is there a speck at the bottom of the eye, or is it part of the bill? Jim |

Isaac, this is a very good portrait to appreciate what happens at the end of nature's life cycle. Vultures are essential, no matter how ugly they are. There are large flocks of black vultures and some turkey vultures at the Conowingo Dam. I like the iridescent colors shining on the black feathers. Because the feathers on the wing are out of focus, I would either crop this at the top of the wing or darken the blurred wing feathers. Jim |
