Richard, how great it must have been to be in the 100% eclipse. I do like what Mark did to increase the color. There is a lot of structure in the corona, especially in the flares. I would enlarge it to show it off. What do you think?

Sophia, I used your B&W version and read the other comments. I think cropping off the foreground is very helpful. I made the sky and textures pop in Photoshop beta. With Camera Raw filter I lightened the shadows, reduced the black, increased the contrast and clarity to make it pop. Let me know what you think. Jim |

Mark, I like what you are trying to do. I think the swirl is great, but the left edge is dark and draws attention away from the swirl. I cropped off the left edge and took a bit off the top of your June entry. Let me know what you think. Jim |

Pete, this captures some great emotions as she is holding his right arm and uses a cane in the other hand. The lighting is well done, especially the sycamore tree and other tree making an awning above them as they cross the wooden bridge together. I have no suggestions, just appreciation. Jim |

David, I like the expressions of the driver and passenger.
I find that the shadows on the driver's side are very dark. In Photoshop Beta I selected both tires/wheels and used Camera Raw filter to reduce/lighten the shadows. Let me know what you think. Jim |

Keisha, welcome to DD#5. You have some excellent ideas already. One suggestion that I have on the next time you photograph flowers is to bring a water spray bottle to mist the flowers. I like the one drop. It catches the light well. Having many droplets can make it sparkle. Jim |

Jerry, I agree on as I see my photo on this site. I think I used too much on the Gaussian blur. I'll start over and make minor adjustments. Jim |

Kathy, newer Photoshop Elements has some very sophisticated features. Open up Elements, open a photo, look at the tabs at the top of your photo. Find "Filter" and click on that. It might list Camera Raw Filter. Click on that. You will see sliders. At the top of the sliders you will see "AUTO" click on that (it is a preset that does a great job) you can slide shadows and highlight, contrast, black, white, contrast. There is also a slider "clarify" that brings out details.
Try it and have fun.
IF NOT, use Layers, new adjustment layers and check out those options like brightness, hue, saturation etc.

Isaac, I like the intensity of this photo. The crop brings out the action and shows the contortions of the mating. thank you for sharing this. Jim |

Kathy, this is a great photo. I do like the suggestion from Jerry about the crop. Have you tried Camera Raw filter to reduce the highlights and adjust the shadows. Sometimes it helps clarify the texture of feathers reduce the harsh contrast of mid-day sun. I used the dodge tool to let the wing feathers show their structure better. Let me know what you think. Sarita, What a wonderful experience for a photographer to get to the Galapagos Islands to capture a photo like this. Very well done. Looking at the fish, it reminds me of the sea robins I used to catch in the bay behind Avalon New Jersey. Of course I do not know the species of fish around the Galapagos Islands. The birds are fantastic. Jim |

Jerry, welcome to DD#15. Thank you for sharing what a female Redwing blackbird from the wetlands of Colorado looks like. The Redwing Blackbirds in Pennsylvania and Maryland are darker. The photo is very high quality and I appreciate your first photo with our group. Jim Horn |

Isaac, thank you for your suggestion. I'll try working with the saturation on the spoonbills only. As you can see from the original, I thought that their pink faded after spending five months in Delaware. Jim |
