Pete, thank you for your insights and for your improvements on the still life. The gears seem brighter.
NOTE: the macro shows the details that a watch collector would be interested in. I have this other macro that only a watch collector would be interested in. It is a railroad grade, 19 jewel, Riverside pocket watch. But this is PSA. Jim |

Mark, you are getting amazing photos of caves and water in out-of-the-way places. The lighting brings us from darkness into the bright sunlight. The sunlit rock at the opening seems over-exposed. Of course, it is about extreme lighting differences. I think vignettes in the corners would give us the "tunnel" effect. Let me know what you think. Jim |

Mark, thank you for telling me what you prefer. It's a hard choice, but I had to choose one. Jim |

Richard, this is great. What you did brings out so much more vibrant color. Everything you did is great. I would take out the shadow of the cleat on the dock - either by using dodge tool or cloning it out. Jim |

Sophia, You did very well to get this photo and present it well. I have some simple suggestions. Crop the left side with has light shining through the branches. It is dead space and the spots are distracting. I also used the dodge tool to brighten up the lion's tail which is in shadow. Jim |

Pete, good catch (sorry for the pun). It is good that the highlights are there in her hoodie, face and profile. I think that you have more contrast or highlights in Camera RAW filter for the entire photo. Selecting just the girl's head, hoodie and shorts, in Camera RAW filter I used dehaze to lighten her face and bring out details in the hoodie. To me, the contrast and pixelation is not as harsh this way. Let me know what you think. Jim |

David, this pose and lighting is well thought out and gives you a good portrait. I think that the dodging may have washed out some of the color in her cheeks as compared to the original. I do see more color in her lips. Her mysterious green eyes are brighter. Well done. I might like to see a catch-light in her eyes, but that might detract from how green they are. Jim |

Barbara, I agree with Richard that the angle of your camera does give better image of the rings. Your red version does have better highlights in the reflection and seems to be sharper. I like what you've done and you've given me some creative ideas. Thank you. Jim |
