Stuart, thank you for your thoughts. I agree. The smoke ring should bring interest, not demand attention. Thank you. Jim |

Tab, this is great. I've been to Chichin Itza and this perspective from the other pyramid is inspiring.
I am impressed with the details. The B&W exaggerates the contrast, but I'm unsure if that helps the image.
I know your style is to go BIG on dynamic sky and that's a fine thing - but that takes away the fantastic interest in the columned building at the bottom/foreground. I think that the volume of sky steals the spot-light. Consider what I did in the crop, and edit reducing shadows, reducing black. Jim |

Sam, what an active imagination you have, giving the statue a heron to look at. I like your originals. I wonder what happened to the detail in the heron original. Did you use the largest size heron photo to erase the background? I know it's intensive post-processing to get the and separation when erasing the background for composites.
It's fine as it is, but could be improved if you could keep the details of the heron. Thanks. Jim |

Steve, thank you for sharing this unique nature photo. All photographers love to find an "S" line from foreground, bottom left to upper right in the distance. Well done, great capture.
There is a way to reduce the harsh contrast of mid-day sun on a bright beach in Photoshop. I suggest lightening shadows and dimming highlights. I also suggest that you crop it using the 16:9 format for landscapes, eliminate unneeded sky and water. This takes the "S" from the above the bottom left corner up to the horizon on the right and let the cloud line take your eyes back to the top left. Let me know what you think. Jim |
