I used the clone tool to copy brushes and flowers into the bald and dark space. Is this better? |

Laura, I like the way you cropped the Emerald Coast. Bringing out the reds and yellows on the sunset and on the flowers helped this great photo.
I used the burn tool to take out some of the highlights in the bottom left corner - wondering if that kept your rule of thirds and reduced the distraction. |

Nice macro. I like what you did in B&W. I have heard it said by Black and White photographers that no one should spoil a great photo by covering it with color. There are many midtones of gray that are not picked up in color.
Having said that, I think that you limited the photo by using only light gray and off whites.
I added contrast and used the clone tool to make a solid stem. I found the left foreground was bulbous, distracting and unconnected. I used the 'band-aid' to remove the blotch in the right foreground.

Worth the wait. I like the rich color of the sunset. I assume that you have so much water to the left of the boat in order to include the wave in the foreground. If that is your intent, I suggest using the dodge tool to lighten the surf.
I would also suggest that you do a custom rotation one degree counterclockwise so that the water line on the horizon would be level.
I like the silhouette of the boat. Well done.

I am impressed. The results are worth all of your efforts in this fantasy scene. The lighting, highlights, depth, vignette and autumnal setting tell a great story.
Did you use a studio to do the lighting?
(substituting another background is evident)
Nicely done.

Kayvon, as I shared with you, I selected the crop tool and chose 24,000 x 16,000 ppi for the size of what would remain in a tight crop of the hummingbird. I added some midtone contrast and contrast. |
