39 Feb 25 Reply You are right David. It is better. Thank you. Feb 27th
39 Feb 25 Comment Job well done Mary Ann. I like the B&W version and the panoramic format is well adequate for the scene. The subject is more the rocks than the sky, even if it is a nice one.
The structure of the rocks is well done. The human presence is of course, for me, an added value to the picture.

39 Feb 25 Comment At first look, I would have suggested a square format, but after 10 seconds I say no. There are different parts (shadow, boat and sky) and every part has its place.
The shadow has its place and makes the picture.
Tho color (dark tone) on the bottom (right on the picture, left of the boat) is almost aligned with the horizon. I have an impression of a nice continuity.

39 Feb 25 Comment I agree with your description (Mono & tenderness) and work (background).
Really good conversion. The horse's mane is very sharp and we can see the eyes.
The ears are cut but it doesn't matter.

39 Feb 25 Comment Both versions are nice, but the B&W works well. Good idea to crop on the right.
Good job at 1/6th sec. The hand is not sharp but it gives an impression of movement.
I like the direction of the eyes. He has a public....

75 Feb 25 Comment Different angles of view give different picture and we can choose the best one. When we can move the subjet (as you did) you can reach the same objective. Well done.
I like the frozen air particules (I suppose) that give an impression of "explosion" in the background. There are less present on the left. This can rise questions.

75 Feb 25 Comment I agree with the analysis and comment of Murphy.
I will add that hiding the sun behind the tree is a really good idea. So we have the light and the colour of the sun without having an element too present.
The beauty of Nature.

75 Feb 25 Comment Very nice and colored image. I like the composition and the shadow on the petals. Indeed we are attracted by the "refraction" of the stem which is too much or not enough visible.
For the drama around the picture, there are those for and those against. It is the choice of the maker. But to finish the picture specially when the background is black, I like it.
We can still make the fault of the Aperture. It will still happen.
Enjoy the group.

75 Feb 25 Comment At first look I really like the 2 main colors with the dark background.
I agree with the comments of Ray. With f/16 (not the aircraft... sorry...), we could expect to have enough DoF. The background of the upper right corner has been processed and we can still see some "traces" (not completely black).

75 Feb 25 Comment Thank you Alison for your look on the picture. Feb 5th
75 Feb 25 Reply Indeed Ray to process the background. Feb 5th
75 Feb 25 Reply Thanks Murphy.
It is not the first time I made this "mistake"... and it was possible with the ISO...
