Welcome Diane to our group.
Very original picture (I like the structure and the composition). Even if the colors are nice in the original, I like the B&W version, there is more contrast with the background.
We also better see the spinner web.
I forgot several times a thin stroke around the picture and David reminds me a few times.... |

Welcome Mary to this group. You have the name of one of a soccer player of our National Belgian team (Yannick Carrasco). I hope you are in photography what he is to soccer.
I like the (relax) attitude of Joey. Just the right moment. The eyes are sharp and well-lit.
The conversion in B&W works well with all the disturbing element away. |

Indeed both images are intriguing. I find easier "my way" (the staging) in the color version. I really like the color of the cycle.
Good idea of the format. |

As you mentioned it for the picture of David (and I agreed with you), the eyes are differently attracted in the B&W than in the color version. In the color version it is the water falling from his mouth. In the B&W version it is his face with the eyes.
I prefer the texture of the B&W version. Maybe a little too much highlights. |

Indeed an interesting wheel and well converted in B&W.
I agree with Fran that the eyes are differently attracted in B&W than in the color version. The wheel spokes are really attracting in the B&W version.
The white boarder hides a little the pipe. |

Nice composition indeed, with the petals going to the center.. We have the impression to enter a stage world.
I appreciate the light and shadow. |

Original capture. I am not fan of this format, but it is your choice, that I understand.
The thin DoF (f/1.8) is not "visible" easily. Indeed the center of the picture is out of focus, so we have to look somewhere else, to the subject, namely the petals.
Why, even on a tripod, did you choose a so short shutter speed. You had marge at 100 ISO? Just a technical question... |

Beautiful flowers and picture. Good choice oof the format (semi pano), it works very well. Also with the vignette.
I like the different colors and the lightening. Of course removing the partial blossoms could be an interesting alternative. |
