Good idea the square format.
The both version give the impression of having 2 pictures, namely the background and the flower.
I also find there are to dark areas. It is a choice.
The center is sharped, what it is not always easy to capture. |

Image with a very nice story. Father and son: the life.
One is "teaching" the other is "learning". Transmission of "knowhow".
The discovery of a new world for the boy. Little by little with the protection (hand) of the father.
B&W version is better. Would is be possible to "lighten" the dark clothes? |

This is again a good example of all the possibility of an iPhone and what will be the future for the DSLR... ? You are a pioneer...
Wonderful picture. With an iPhone of DSLR it doesn't matter. The result is beautiful.
The compositon is interesting. Indeed the waterfall (the main subject) is not in the foreground to better see it. You have an interesting foreground which lead the eyes until the waterfall. |

Hi Fran and welcome to your group.
You hace a nice view from your deck. Il really like this kind of image (landscape, for, cloudy sky), and of course this kind od image screams to be in B&W. Well done.
With this kind of image, I would have cropped it in 16/9, it gives a wider fiels of view. You had the possibility as you were at 56 mm. 1/8 s, did you have a tripod?
Not always easy to chose a present in SEP. Thera are so many with a really good rendering.
Of course the blow out area (already mentioned) attracts the eyes.
The upper right corner is a little disturbing. There is a discontinuity in the (black) trees.
Our opinion on a personnel picture and the opinion of the jury of a contest can be quite different.
Thanks to have shared this image.

Nice and beautiful treatment. As you proposed and already mentioned, I would have more cropped to seen only the seed. The center is very sharped and immediately attracts the eyes. |
