I like the sharped face of your grandson, with a good structure of the snow in th tunnel.
I can imagine he was happy to play there and of the picture...

With the elements of the wheel, this is very geometrical. Your justification of the format is appropriate.
I also find the vignette a little bit too present.

I think it is worth trying it in B&W, but I prefer the color version for all the diversity of colors, that we don't see anymore in the shade if grays.
Very shared eye, and beautiful beak.

Contrast of the culture (jewels) and now (glasses and the possibility od taking pictures).
We can see or imagine on her face some difficulties of her life, but still proud and a good attitude. Well done.
