Such a sky is "almost" made for a B&W picture.
The format of a picture depend on the composition and the subject, and has not to be a classical (16/9, 3/2, ...) format. However, when you are as close to the square format, I would try to have (reach) is, as it a nice and attractive format, with some symmetry. It gives a complete other way of looking at the image. |

New angle of view, new picture.
With the building on the right we can better imagine the height of the Eye.
Cloudy sky (so beautiful, good choice for the B&W), sharped image of a nice subject with a original angle of view: Job well done. |

Dear Paul,
Thanks for your comment (thanks also to David & Jerry).
These are houses are located next (1 mile) to the center and University of Namur (Belgium), small administrative town of 30.000 inwoners. Earlier it could have some small industrial activities. I don't know when these houses were built. It is also situated next to the river. We have these houses on about 1 mile, and this was for me the best place to take the picture (no car, enough place to have some houses, ...)
There is no cars, as in this part, there is no place on this side. Some parkings are available on the other site.
I also prefer to have a dark picture to emphasize this kind of house. I agree for the mirror, as you can see...
I don't know the people who live there, but a couple came at the door as they saw me taking pictures. We discussed and there were very friendly. No reason why they shouldn't be ... |

A great scene indeed. Clouds, trees, water, reflection, ...
I am not an infra red specialist but I like the effect (impression of snow on the trees in the center).
Good composition with the direction of the river.

Lesson of humanity and humility.
A good image (for me) is went I have vibration or "goose bumps". This is the case.
We can (try to) imagine their way and difficulties of live.
Good angle of view.
A beautiful cloudy sky is always (often) nice, but i don't think it is necessary. the attention has to stay on the people. |

It should be a great day to take theses pictures.
I really like the cycling of the aisles of the four cranes.
Good composition (we have the impression they follow the line of the clouds) and the B&W is a good choice as there is almost no color in the color version. |
