Really like the composition.
However, I think is too much cropped, on the left the chair is cut off, on the right, a part of the chair legs are also cut off.
I you found was you were looking for, it is ok. Personally, i find the treatment too excessive, specially the central path. |

Indeed the original and the B&W are two different images (not due the colors, but with the presence or not of the lines). This is your choice. (see Jerry's comment). Idem for the format (I would also have tried the portrait...)
You succeeded to reveal the details on the tower. |

I really like this kind of images in general, and this one in particular. Good job with the circumstances to take the photo.
I would try to increase the symmetry of the picture, as this "important" in this kind of image, if you wish to have one.
Beautiful tone of grey. |

Must be an interesting and passionate place to be so close, to feel the atmosphere.
I also missed the top of the locomotive.
Il like the subject (the steam) but I am quite disturbed by the left part (beginning) of the steam. It seems to be not natural. |

Just great. Like it very much.
Subject is nice and the dust brings a lot of make the image.
It could have been interesting (nice) to have more details of the 2 men, but I think at this moment, the early morning atmosphere could have been lost. So. just great as its is.
Two groups of camels is more interesting (realistic) than only one. Well done.

Already read here above very pertinent analysis.
I have already experienced Macro without macro lens, not easy at all.
The gills are indeed sharped, in this very small DoF. The rest (top) of the mushroom is really out of DoF. |

Thanks Stephen for your comments.
Good suggestion, it is now another picture, and both have a message, a different one. |

Thanks Paul for your comments.
We were 2 (friends - No competition between us) to take picture, and we were free to change the lighting (I am not a specialist in this matter). I agree with the focus, but i found disturbing not to have a sharp name on the camera... I have other pictures. |
