Hi Larry.
Welcome.
This is an image for B&W. I like the scene very much. I agree with the "need" of the crop. Personally I prefer it more vertical.
On the left side, as the place seems to be "typical & classic", I would crop to take off the bell. Or you came keep it to bring contrast of element.
This is your choice. Both are "good". |

I like the "kind of diagonal" from the upper left to the down right.
The clouds on the left are "good" and reinforce the picture.
Is it not a little empty on the right in the sky?
The white in the center is a little burnt, isn't it? |

A beautiful classic.
Not always easy to capture the flag in an excellent position.
For such picture we should stand on a little scale. In this case we would have better seen the 4th tower.
Is there enough contrast? |

Just great.
A picture is an object and light, or light and an object. I prefer the second proposition/definition.
The light and the subject are here complementary and give a great/strong impact.
Is there enough sharpness on the altar? |

David, I like very much this kind of picture.
You mentiond "this barn sitting in the trees". That makes the "originality" of the picture and maybe the reason why you took this picture. Personnaly, I would have prefered without this barn. It would have maybe been more "classic"...
Abstraction of these remark, I like it very much (fog, trees, atmosphere, the 3 objects in the front...) |

David,
Please find some information hereunder. I upload the original (no crop). As mentioned, the artist came with everything. We "just" have to be in the front place and take the pictures.
It is sometimes difficult to image what is "behind" a picture. ...
I hope I have met your expectations.
Best regards.

Dear David, thank for your comment and I understand your question. The problem is that there is nothing to tell of to share. It is just a picture and what I did it is: cropped in square, B&W in LR, decreased the high light ans incased the clarity.
So there are no effect, no special treatment, no PS, ...
I upload a picture of the series. You can see the the artiste comes "with all". The difficulty for us is to be in the front (no other people), to attract the attention of the artist and to have the time te take some pictures.
It is the same for Steve Job, when he left, there is nothing left.
I hope you are not disappointed. But it is "living statues" and they come with. I am still available for further information (of other images). |
