Hello Lois, this is Art!
There is structure, light and contrast.
I prefer this composition (no rotation) as we look from left to right, we are going from darkness to the light and we follow the lines made by the structure. |

Jerry,
Usually I write my opinion before reading other's comments.
At first sight, my opinion was "it seems to have a lack of contrast".
Today, I read the opinion before writing. So it will be not original, that maybe means there is a lack od contrast....
This place has lived, it has a history and it is a good picture to remember the past. Now it is certainly a good places for some birds and photographers... |

Hello everybody. Top quality of an image, but as above mentioned, maybe without the top of it. There is too much lines in comparison of the rest of the images.
I like very much the light and the diagonals. Very beautiful. The texture of the first dune (below) is well fixed.
We can immediately recognize your (beautiful) style. |

Hello David.
Very nice image. I like his pose with the tail and his left lug. It is in its environment what's better for the composition.
The adjustments are ok. |

Thanks David for your comment.
Indeed I forgot to mention the name: "Bois du Cazier, in the town of Marcinelle". |
