Great composition and moody as hell. I would recommend using the HDR technique to better capture the huge dynamic range that always occurs in a sunrise due to the photon counting limitations of the camera sensor. Through experimenting I have found the best combination to use for HDR is a series of 3 images, each separated by two stops. You can of course use more images and a small number of stops between images but in some experimentation I did, you don't gain anything by doing that. I also might play with luminescence masking for bringing out detail in the shadows but I personally don't have much experience doing that so this is just a guess/suggestion. |

I like the way you have used the sunrise as a composition element to make it seem as if the tree is on fire. I find that to be a very interesting approach. Also some interesting shadows in the foreground that helps differentiate the tree/house silhouette and the green lawns. |

That's a really nice shot and composition. Very moody and I find the foreground to be very interesting and the image makes me want to know more about what is going there. |

I love the composition and the boat identifies where you were. I recommend that you try an HDR series of image, perhaps 3 images separated by 2 stops in order to better capture the broad dynamic range. The sun would still probably be blown out but the halo around the sun might be reduced and there would be more detail in the foreground. The human eye can register a higher dynamic range as compared to a camera sensor which is limited by the number of photons that can be stored in each pixel before saturation occurs. |

Great way to fulfill the assignment. Great that you captured it before it disappeared. |
