Thank you Wendy. I love Japanese Maples and have about 14 different ones that I have planted and another 10 that I have raised from volunteers. Plus another 30 volunteers that I am raising in pots and small banzai containers. I get great spring colors but something about my climate doesn't always give me much in the fall. |

I didn't mention it but I did use filter in Color Efex Pro to brighten the center and darken the surrounding area. I didn't want to overdo it since I really was trying to contrast the shape and color of the seed with leaves of the tree.
Thank you for the comment. |

Actually I should have titled it "From this to that" as I was most interested in the life cycle of the Japanese Maple. That is why I did not try to make it a seed portrait but rather a seed within the leaves. I didn't mention it but I did use the brighten center filter in Color Efex Pro to highlight the seed.
Thanks for the feedback. |

I appreciate that it was taken in a dark forest, but the image is so dark that I have a hard time seeing what it really is, other than an insect. |

I wonder if the edges are exhibiting a chromatic aberration effect or is the back side. of the leaf more of a purple color? Nice composition.
I'll be happy when the leaves turn colors where I am. |
